Learn Journalism and Spanish in Bolivia

Who are we?

We are the Bolivian Express, an English language magazine in La Paz,
Bolivia, set up by Bolivian graduates in collaboration with students from
across the world.

We are a subsidiary of Grupo Express Press, which
publishes a number of other Bolivian magazines, including Datos and Revista Metro (
http://www.metrobolivia.com/metro/default.asp).

What do we write about?

Our articles focus on Bolivian culture, society, and urban and rural life. Our editorial stance is apolitical. We have a strong social involvement focus -we are working together with 'El hormigon Armado', a magazine produced by the 'lustrabotas', children and young adults who work on the street shining shoes.

What kind of internships do we offer?

We offer journalism internships in La Paz to international candidates. As one of our interns you will be provided with journalism lessons, photography lessons, cinematography lessons and magazine design lesson by experts in their respective fields. In order to help you be even more productive during your stay you will also be provided with accommodation in La Paz alongside Spanish lessons at a variety of levels. Interns will receive Bolivian press passes on arrival and will be paired up with locals in La Paz and encouraged to explore Bolivian culture, eventually producing four pages of content for the magazine each month.

When are our internships available?

Our internships are available on an ongoing basis throughout the year. Candidates can come for as little as one month, or for as long as one year.
