About the Position
Net Impact seeks a full-time contractor for 3-4 months (July – October 2011) to research and develop web content for a major new Net Impact initiative, Work for Good. Work for Good will channel the Millennial generation’s skill, talent, and drive into socially meaningful careers across all sectors. Net Impact seeks help developing content for a dynamic website that will serve as the world’s first interactive, comprehensive platform for world-changing careers. This position will report to the Associate Director, Career & Education and work closely with the Development and the Marketing & Communications teams.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • Write, edit, and curate lively, inspiring, and clear content for website intended for audience of passionate, business-minded Millennials (college students, MBAs, and young professionals)
  • Conduct both primary and secondary research, including interviews with 20-40 practitioners (professionals using their business skills to have a positive impact on the world in different functional roles across multiple sectors on a variety of issues)
  • Potentially prepare short videos or podcasts of interviews to be displayed on the site
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience researching, writing, and editing content for the web, including blogs and other publications
  • Knack for turning potentially dry, lengthy material into fun, engaging, concise narrative content
  • Experience interviewing professionals, including executive-level practitioners
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple assignments and tasks while meeting deadlines, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders/approvers
  • Familiarity with the social impact space (including corporate responsibility and sustainability, social entrepreneurship, nonprofit and philanthropic organizations, and government)
  • Interest in and commitment to Net Impact’s mission
