BAVC Producers Institute for New Media Technologies
contact BAY AREA VIDEO COALITION
Launched in 2007, the BAVC Producers Institute for New Media
Technologies
http://www.bavc.org/producersinstitute
is an incubator for transmedia and interactive projects that further
social issue storytelling. The Institute works to connect independent
producers and their documentary content to emerging models of
storytelling and distribution. Utilizing high-level technical mentors,
developers, and consultants from the public and private sectors, the
10-day Institute has been a key factor in developing new creative work
that is changing the face of documentary production, creating a platform
for ideas that integrate social innovation, civic engagement and art
practice, and catalyzing global communities with story-driven tools for
social change.
This year, we are making available to the general public a small number
of seats to the Producers Institute opening day panels and workshops
including conversations about augmented reality, gaming, interactive
mapping, micro-storytelling, emerging mobile technologies and lots more.
